A fresh twist on the traditional tiling scene! Be creative and dip into your fabric stash to build any size of tiling scene, or consider creating pillows, table runners, tote bags or coasters. This embroidery collection is made up of “building blocks” of flower quarters. The blocks can be arranged in any combination of patterns, utilizing a variety of fabrics. Class fee includes embroidery designs. Instructor: Sue Stedman
Come and learn the basics of free motion quilting! Diane will touch on all of the important elements- needles, thread, quilting feet and much more. You will practice on sample fabric and batting squares. With practice, and the
basics you learn from this class, your free-motion quilting possibilities are endless. Instructor: Diane Johnson
Combine free-motion stitching with rulers and get a beautiful style of quilting with shaped patterns. In this class you will use a straight ruler that will allow you to form precise straight edged patterns. Diane will teach you the
basics of quilting with rulers in this hands-on technique class. You will work on sample quilt squares as you learn this fun technique. Knowledge of free motion quilting highly recommended.
Take your ruler work quilting to the next level. Starting with a very basic pieced table runner, you will quilt the center using the same design that you used in your beginning ruler work class. You can see how the straight-lined pattern flows from one repeat to the next, creating the most beautiful, quilted centerpiece. Intermediate skill level needed for this class. Instructor: Diane Johnson
If you’ve ever wanted to make a quilt completely on your own, or see what else you can do with your embroidery machine, then you’ll love this technique class! The Easy-Connect Quilting files and technique allow you to use your home embroidery machine to get quilting results like you’d see from a long-arm quilter. We suggest using a magnetic hoop to cut your time in half. The Edge to Edge Book by Amelie Scott is needed for class. Design sizes: 5.1” x 9.5”, 6.2” x 11.5”, 7.3” x 13.5”.
The first class will explore decorative stitching with your serger. Each tree is decorated with a specialty serger thread which is put in the looper of the machine to create a beautiful variety of patterns. Then the trees are pieced together using exposed seams enhanced with more metallic thread – the final product glimmers and glistens! The second class will be quilting your table runner using your traditional sewing machine. This 37″ x 13″ table runner will sure to be a fall/winter favorite!
*Please note your serger needs to be capable of sewing a chain stitch in order to make this project. We have a few chain stitch capable sergers that can be used in class if needed, please call the shop for more information. Class fee includes pattern and decorative thread. Instructor: Deb & Robin Zarbo
